Foosball (“Table Football,” as it’s known in Europe) can be a game of great skill if played on the right table. And this, in case you’ve forgotten where you are, is the right table. The lino-like playing surface provides amazing grip and control with the official cork balls. In fact, a ball can be maneuvered (or "walked") while pinned under a man’s foot, resulting in more accurate passing and less open-handed pathetic spinning. With practice, you can even score deliberate airborne shots over the goalie.

As for quality of construction, the French Ministry of Justice once ordered 24 tables for a prison in Nantes. Of course, that might also have had something to do with the unique rods that telescope rather than push through the table, making it impossible for opponents to impale each other.
